Aloft on rocks and ice

An hour’s drive from Merano one can climb in the Dolomites, where various levels of difficulty up to third and fourth level, are available. Or one can choose between indoor and outdoor climbing in Merano and its surroundings.

At the indoor climbing facilities, that also offer different levels of difficulty and a complete range of instruction courses, every enthusiastic climber, from the beginner to the sport climber, will find his favourite challenge.

The high-rope garden, something special for the family
An adventure for everyone, big and small, is the high-rope garden 'HETZ' in the village of Terlan: a high rope climbing course with many routes of various degrees of difficulty, up to a height of twenty meters, offers all visitors looking for a challenge, no matter what age, the adrenalin rush they seek. There is also a special area for the climbers of the future, those between the ages of four and six.

The beautiful Cascade of Partschins
Meanwhile in Partschins one can find a highlight for advanced climbers, climbing through the big cascade of Partschins. The 97 meters of thunderous water requires experience and should be done for the first time under supervision. But then, the power of the water in the unspoiled alpine environment provides a unique experience.

Sports climbing
 Around Merano there are many climbing parks, such as boulder area of Algund, the climbing gardens in Pfelders, at St.Hypolit in Lana or next to the Fragsburg cascade. One can climb all year round, or in bad weather there is the „Rockarena“climbing hall in Merano.
