Winter holidays for the Entire Family in Scena
When the days grow shorter and snow begins to blanket the mountains, it is the perfect time for visiting Scena, a beautiful village located above Merano. Whether you choose to take it easy in one of the many leisure centres or to go hiking in the
mild fresh air of a village renowned for its balmy winters, Scena is the place to be.
If you prefer a more athletic
Nordic Walk or a bracing snow shoe trip, Scena is home to numerous hiking trails and well-signed
Nordic Walking paths, and at the nearby ski resort of
Merano 2000 there are more than 25km (15 miles) of winter hiking paths and trails.
Those looking for skiing and fun for the entire family should visit the family friendly ski resort of Merano 2000, one of the 16 skiing areas of the
Ortler ski arena. The cableway leading directly uphill to Merano 2000 from Scena is easily reachable by bus. Many funiculars and cableways, over 50 km (30 miles) of slopes and cross-country ski runs, back country trails, snow shoe treks and a hilariously meandering toboggan run all await you in this
family-oriented ski resort.
Be enticed by the wonderful South Tyrolean winter landscape. Scena and the surrounding areas offer many leisure activities and marvelously relaxing wellness facilities. An oasis of well-being for the body and soul!
The sun-soaked family friendly ski area of Merano 2000 offers 3 ski rental services, a professional skiing school and a play school for little ones. Moreover there are nightly torch ski-runs and downhill and toboggan runs held under floodlights, as well as ice skating facilities.

Vintage Car Rallye 2009
Between
July 5 and 12, during the
Scena Vintage Car Rallye, a wide range of vintage cars travel across the beautiful landscapes and panoramic roads of South Tyrol. This is not a race so much as a journey through time, where style, precision and
teamwork are celebrated. The route leads over mountain passes and through the Dolomites, bringing a wonderful spectacle to the villages along the way and allowing participants and visitors alike to enjoy the variety of the local cuisine.
Here you can see a number of vintage cars,
produced before 1965 and representing a cross section of the history of the most famous European auto manufacturers, so that a colossal Bentley with its eight cylinder engine might stand next to a car such as the
BMW Isetta. And since the dream cars of those years are the dream cars of today, we can also see the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster and the female-named Giulietta next to the Rolls Royce Phantom, Mark I to VI.
